Volunteer Opportunities

  • Docent Programs

Love the Mansion? Sign up to be a docent today and learn to give tours of our beloved museum. Become an expert in area history and interact with people from all over the world as they come to tour the Historic Ivinson Mansion.
    We think you’ll be great!

  • Research and Curatorial Opportunities

Calling all students of history! Work with our Curatorial staff to care for objects, research burning historical questions, and preserve Laramie’s legacy. Open to all ages and levels of experience. UW Students looking for internship credit are gladly welcomed.

  • Other Opportunities

Got some time on your hands? Connect with the Garden Club to help out on our extensive grounds, join the Feather Dusters to help keep the mansion clean, or volunteer to make tasty treats for our Teas on Tuesdays. We have something for everyone.

Junior Docent Program

Do you know of an extraordinary kid going into Junior High? During the summer, our tours are handled by a cadre of young volunteers who learn to become museum docents. These Junior Docents facilitate tours for the public, help us maintain our beautiful grounds, and assist the curatorial staff with a myriad of projects. Our docents also learn key interpersonal skills, improve their public speaking, and gain important experience that helps kids achieve greater confidence.

Talk to your child’s teacher for a referral. For questions, please contact the Carriage House office.
